Keeping the treble
Just stumbled across this blog post on (this is for musicians by the way - most non musicians can stop about here ;0) keeping the treble up while turning down your guitar's volume.
Most of the time, when you're playing loud and distorted, if you roll back the guitar's volume you can get a cleaner sound, but the treble frequencies die out first so it starts to sound dead and muddy.
There's a simple trick to "bleed some treble" while cutting back the volume. Go to http://jon.smajda.com/2009/08/29/let-it-bleed/ to find out more.
